In London, on TEAM2100 we are delivering coastal resilience along 200+ miles of shoreline, including operation of the iconic Thames Barrier, all driven on the Estuary Eye digital platform. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, Jacobs is one of two design leads and engineers-of-record for a flood protection system that will not only protect the neighborhood and the New York City’s critical infrastructure from future flooding but will also make the communities safer and more vibrant.

Tyndall Air Force Base
Following a devastating Cateogry 5 hurricane that damaged 100% of Tyndall Air Force Base's assets, Jacobs is exploring a series of pilot projects that use nature-based solutions to reduce coastal flood risks while creating important social and environmental benefits.

Port of San Francisco Waterfront Resilience Program
Jacobs is working with the City of San Franscisco to preserve and fortify its 100-year-old Embarcadero Seawall for earthquake safety, flood protection, resilience and sea level rise adaptation.

After Superstorm Sandy hit, destroying thousands of businesses, homes, public amenities and regional infrastructure, including the iconic, wooden Rockaway Boardwalk in Queens, New York, Jacobs worked to help the community recover their “Main Street".

Windara Reef Restoration
As the lead engineer for The Nature Conservancy, Jacobs developed the numerical modelling and the engineering design for the construction of the 20-hectare Stage 2 reef expansion at Windara Reef on the Yorke Peninsular in South Australia.

Thames Estuary Asset Management (TEAM 2100)
TEAM 2100 was set up by England’s Environment Agency to create a long-term approach to managing 330-kilometers of tidal flood defenses in London and the Thames Estuary, including the iconic Thames Barrier. Jacobs is managing the first 10 years of the program.
