For Scott Stetson, challenging today to reinvent tomorrow means seeking to influence how technology is adapted from one domain and to be adopted by another.
In particular, he’s seeking to spread aerial imaging technology originally developed for defense applications to the environmental, water, energy and transportation markets.

As the Division Vice President for Growth & Strategy in the Rapid Solutions performance unit, Scott has over 25 years of engineering and operations leadership experience in both government and commercial capacities. Scott’s background includes working on submarines and surface ships as a U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Office and Engineering Duty Officer, as well as satellite systems at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).
Commercially, he has worked in aerial remote sensing programs for Northrop Grumman and KeyW, which was acquired by Jacobs in 2019. From this experience, Scott saw an opportunity for Jacobs to further advance its strategy of delivering innovative and unique mission-oriented solutions for highly technical and high-consequence government priorities. Now he does just that.
When he isn’t helping government and commercial customers meet their goals, you can find Scott spending time with his wife and family in Newburyport, Massachusetts where he enjoys boating, scuba diving, mountain biking and skiing in the towering Appalachian Mountains.
Scott holds his undergraduate degree from Duke University, a masters of science in Applied Physics (Remote Sensing Concentration) from the Naval Postgraduate School, an Advanced Certificate for Executives from MIT’s Sloan School of Business, and several government and professional certifications in program management and system engineering.
