Jacobs Receives Six Awards at Canadian Safety Achievement Awards Ceremony

Our field services operations in Canada recently received six awards across three categories during the General President’s Maintenance Committee and National Maintenance Council’sCanadian Safety Achievement Awards ceremony in July. Created to promote safety as a top priority in the maintenance sector, the awards acknowledge industry leaders who work together to achieve exceptional performance.

William Warchow’s Safety Leadership & Innovation Award

In honor of William Warchow, one of the original GPMC pioneers and policymakers in the maintenance world, this award is granted to those who effectively demonstrate leadership and positive impact on health and safety. Jacobs received this award for the implementation of our Positive Root Cause Investigations (PRCI) Program on a multinational chemical client’s site in Alberta. To prolong exceptional safety performance after celebrating two years without a recordable injury on this site, PRCIs were developed—the investigation and communication of a job, task, or project that was successful. Since the PRCI process has been introduced, Jacobs has achieved 4 years and counting without an injury on this site.

Tripartite Zero Injury Turnaround Award

Turnaround and outage work presents a unique set of challenges for maintenance industry stakeholders. This award recognizes clients, employers, and unions who execute high volumes of craft hours in short turnaround windows without a recordable injury or lowest total recordable incident rating. Jacobs received this award for successfully completing a turnaround with no recordable injuries after completing 736,00 workhours with 1,170 people.

365 Daily Maintenance Award

Industrial plants across the country often require year-round daily maintenance to ensure operational efficiency, and this award showcases stakeholders who have executed daily maintenance for >365 days without a recordable injury. Four of our Canada site teams were presented with the 365 Daily Maintenance Award to celebrate their outstanding safety performance.

We look forward to continuing to support safety leadership at work and within the communities we operate.
