Jacobs Project Selected Overall Winner of 2012 Facility of the Year Awards

PASADENA, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Dec. 4, 2012 -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that the Merck Vaccine Bulk Manufacturing Facility (VBF) Program of Projects in Durham, N.C. was selected as the overall winner of the 2012 Facility of the Year Awards (FOYA) program.

Jacobs provided engineering, procurement, construction management and commissioning/validation services, as well as full modular design and fabrication for the manufacturing facility.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Bob Pragada stated, “For the VBF Program of Projects, the entire team, including 46 subcontractors and 50 suppliers, integrated seamlessly. It is an honor to support Merck in meeting their project needs, and to contribute to a facility that helps to improve the health and welfare of so many people.”

The FOYA program recognizes pharmaceutical manufacturing projects that use new and innovative technologies to enhance project delivery and reduce production costs of high quality medicines. Now in its seventh year, the awards program effectively spotlights the accomplishments, shared commitment, and dedication of individuals in companies worldwide to innovate and advance pharmaceutical manufacturing technology for the benefit of all global consumers. This marks the second time in three years that Jacobs has worked on the winning project.
