Jacobs Will Redevelop South Brooklyn Marine Terminal

Jacobs was selected by Empire Offshore Wind, a joint venture between Equinor and bp, for the detail design of New York's South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT). The facility, located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, will serve as an operations and maintenance base and staging and assembly port for wind turbine installation. SBMT will support the Empire Wind and Beacon Wind offshore wind farms in development off the coast of Long Island, New York. Once completed, the projects will reduce carbon emissions while providing clean energy to more than two million New York homes.

Artemis I Rolls to Launch Pad for the First Time

The Jacobs team supported NASA rolling out the Artemis I rocket from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to Launch Pad 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in preparation of final prelaunch tests of the Space Launch System (SLS). Artemis I, a flight test of the most powerful rocket NASA has ever built, will be the first mission in NASA's new deep space human exploration program, which aims to land the first woman and the first person of color on the moon and establish sustainable exploration in preparation for missions to Mars.
