Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson Designates April 3 as Jacobs Day

Proclamation recognizes Jacobs’ five decades of service to the Milwaukee metropolitan area

Milwaukee

Jacobs (NYSE: J) was recognized by Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson as he proclaimed April 3 Jacobs Day. The declaration celebrates the 50-year anniversary of Jacobs providing solutions that serve the Milwaukee metropolitan community.

Jacobs’ history serving the city began in the 1970s with a focus on water quality improvements and preparation of Milwaukee’s first Riverwalk design guidelines. Jacobs has since been a cornerstone of the Milwaukee community, providing planning, engineering, operations and construction management services for transportation, water and environmental infrastructure projects.

With a presence in Milwaukee, Madison and Appleton, Jacobs has supported the delivery of more than $10 billion worth of award-winning critical infrastructure projects for clients in Wisconsin. Major projects have included the Waukesha Water Transition Project, design standards for the Lakefront Gateway District, Marquette Interchange, Mitchell Interchange, Zoo Interchange,  ongoing remediation and restoration of the Milwaukee River, I-41 in the Fox Valley, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Jones Island Water Reclamation Facility and I-94 NS Freeway project

“This year marks a milestone commemorating half a century of delivering critical infrastructure projects in Milwaukee,” said Jacobs Office Lead and Transportation Engineer Gary Ferguson. “We are proud to be part of the community and remain committed to making it an even better place to live, work and play.”

In addition to delivering critical infrastructure projects, Jacobs has supported initiatives and organizations like STEM Forward’s Future City Competition, Water For People and the Alliance for the Great Lakes. The company has also hosted over a dozen interns in our Milwaukee office in recent years to offer intensive learning experiences to local youth.
