Meet Jennifer Liggett
Greenwood Village, Colorado, U.S.
As Global Principal for Drinking Water Quality, Jennifer Liggett helps our clients to protect public health in their communities by solving complex drinking water quality challenges.
Jennifer's focus on drinking water quality encompasses a far-reaching technology area that includes source water quality, distribution system water quality and building water quality. Jennifer and her team work to solve complex water quality and compliance issues including legionella and nitrification prevention and mitigation, corrosion control evaluations, regulatory changes and compliance (Lead and Copper Rule Revisions, PFAS Proposed Rule, Disinfection Byproducts Rule), discolored water root cause analysis and prevention, and distribution system operations and maintenance challenges.
Most recently, Jennifer and her team and have worked with water systems and regulators on Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) compliance. This has included projects focused on equity in lead service line replacements and research on the prevalence of galvanized service lines in the U.S. She helps to provide long-lasting, high-impact water quality compliance solutions.
Prior to joining Jacobs in 2015, Jennifer worked as a research chemist at the U.S. EPA’s Office of Research and Development, where she researched water quality impacts on pipe corrosion. Jennifer attended the University of Cincinnati for both her bachelor’s in environmental studies and master’s in environmental science. She was awarded the Holly A. Cornell Scholarship, which provided visibility within the Jacobs team. Jennifer first joined Jacobs working in the Intelligent Systems (now Digital Solutions) team, which built off the microelectrode research she had conducted at the U.S. EPA. After a few years, she realized that her passion was in drinking water – and she was able to network internally to create a new career path.
“I’m proud to work on drinking water solutions that protect public health – especially for those in disadvantaged communities and those who are the most vulnerable to the impacts of lead and other drinking water contaminants.”
