Next Generation Water Leakage Management
According to the International Water Association, more than 91 billion gallons of water are lost through our drinking water supply networks every day across the globe. That’s enough drinking water to supply drought-hit states in the U.S. West for an entire week.
Leakage from drinking water systems is not a new phenomenon. Due to the pressurized nature of our distribution networks, new leaks will continue to occur, even as existing leaks are repaired. This cycle of leakage management is being exacerbated by the increasing age of our infrastructure: according to the US EPA, break rates have increased by 27 percent over the last decade.
In this “In The kNOW” webinar, we provide an overview of traditional leak management approaches and discuss how innovative water utilities in the US and UK are now using next generation digital solutions to more effectively solve the problem.
