Jacobs. A world where you can.
As climate change threatens water security around the world, more communities are turning to water reuse as a resilient water supply solution and embracing the OneWater principle that all water has value. Jacobs has been supporting clients with water reuse programs for decades, beginning with the first applications of advanced wastewater treatment technologies in the 1960s. We provide our clients with a full range of services, from water reuse feasibility studies to design, construction and operations.
The only certainty about the future is uncertainty. Resilience is an attribute of a smarter planet, and requires planning and adapting ahead of potential threats. We help our clients survive, recover, adapt and thrive.

Stories that capture our partnerships and innovative impact for a more connected, sustainable world
For the second consecutive year, Jacobs is included in the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index, reinforcing our position as a sustainability leader among the top 20% of the largest 600 North American companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index (BMI) based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria. We are ranked fifth among 42 companies assessed in our “Professional Services” industry group.
“We’re proud to be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index for the second consecutive year. This recognition is a testament to Jacobs’ deep commitment to driving positive social and environmental impact worldwide – through both the way we run our business and the solutions we deliver,” says Jacobs Global Vice President of Sustainability, Zoe Haseman. “As we shared at recent COP26 events and beyond, we recognize it is indeed a “code red” moment for our planet and people, and we will continue progressing in our sustainability journey to build a better future for all.”
S&P Global’s Global Head of ESG Research Manjit Jus said: "We congratulate Jacobs for being included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for North America. A DJSI distinction is a reflection of being a sustainability leader in your industry. The record number of companies participating in the 2021 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment is testament to the growing movement for ESG disclosure and transparency."
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) recognizes public companies for outstanding performance across three criteria: economic, environmental and social. This index is used as a reference by stakeholders who hold sustainability as a high priority when making investments. To be considered for index membership, a company must be the most sustainable in the industry.

Earlier this year, we shared our PlanBeyondSM 2.0 approach designed to propel the integration of sustainability throughout operations and client solutions in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We also announced the creation of an Office of Global Climate Response and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG), designed to deliver on Jacobs’ commitments to climate change through innovative solutions for our clients and shareholders. We are coupling climate response with ESG, which is taking on heightened significance, both within Jacobs and externally as companies around the globe rise to the climate challenge and address urgent social issues.
