Jacobs Strengthens Australia Presence with Canberra Office

Reinforces growth in Australia’s Capital Territory, enhancing collaboration with clients

Jacobs opened a new office at Brindabella Business Park in Canberra, Australia. This strategic move builds on an almost 30-year legacy in Australia’s Capital Territory underscoring Jacobs’ continued commitment to supporting clients post spinning off its Critical Mission Solutions and Cyber & Intelligence businesses.

Jacobs serves key private sector and government clients in Australia including the Department of Defence and the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, and the Arts, supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure and defence projects in Australia’s capital.

“Jacobs has a long history successfully serving the Australian Federal Government departments and clients in and around Canberra. We gained critical mass almost 30 years ago with the outsourcing of the Australian Government’s Land Information Group. Since then, we’ve delivered environmental assessments, strategic geospatial and asset management projects, water infrastructure designs, building services for federal facilities, and program management for justice and defense initiatives,” said Jacobs President of Global Operations Patrick Hill. “Our new office represents a significant milestone in our history, enhancing our ability to collaborate more closely with our clients as we continue to support their critical infrastructure, advanced manufacturing and sustainability needs.”

The office is tailored to meet the needs of Jacobs teams working with government clients, providing secure and collaborative workspaces compliant with the Defence Industry Security Program and International Traffic in Arms Regulations. The office also features secured rooms, which ensure data protection and adherence to security standards crucial for national defense operations.

Situated near Canberra Airport, the location offers convenient access for Jacobs’ clients and staff within Brindabella Business Park and the nearby Russell Precinct, enhancing Jacobs’ culture of collaboration and supporting its expanding workforce, which has grown significantly since 2020.

The office space also aligns with Jacobs’ new ways of working and incorporates modern layouts that promote flexibility and collaboration. Features include rooms dedicated to brainstorming and group projects, booths for private conversations, light-filled spaces to boost productivity and wellbeing, and sit-stand desks that support employee wellbeing.
