Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has appointed Jacobs, alongside other partners, to its latest Airfield Infrastructure Framework, supporting MAG’s three airports: Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands in the U.K. This framework, expected to span the next five to eight years, aims to advance MAG’s airfield development programs as the Group continues to invest in its airport infrastructure.
Jacobs will provide comprehensive project delivery, including planning, advisory, design and multidisciplinary engineering services, to enhance strategic airfield infrastructure across all three airports. Key projects within the framework will include airfield improvement works, runway resurfacing, aircraft stand development and airfield ground lighting systems.
“We are delighted to continue our relationship with M.A.G and support the Group’s capital development priorities to enhance passenger experience, drive sustainability progress and advance connectivity in the U.K.,” says Jacobs Executive Vice President Kate Kenny. "With infrastructure resiliency becoming ever more critical, our focus is on delivering projects that not only address today's demands but are also adaptable to the evolving future needs of aviation."
MAG Procurement and Contracts Director Terry Fitzmaurice says: “This new framework will foster a more collaborative relationship between MAG and its designers and contractors, which will help MAG meet its capital investment projects across all three airports. Working more closely will also help MAG meet its sustainability targets - including net zero operations by 2038 - through more sustainable supply chain practices.”
MAG is one of the U.K.’s largest airport operators, collectively owning and operating three U.K. airports alongside digital travel services business, CAVU. MAG served 61.3 million passengers and contributed £10.6 billion ($13.5BN) to the U.K. economy in fiscal year 2024.
