PASADENA, Calif., May 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that Neste Jacobs Oy of Kilpilahti, Finland, has received a framework agreement from Abu Dhabi National Chemicals Co. (ChemaWEyaat) to provide front-end engineering and design services at the ChemaWEyaat Industrial City (Madeenat ChemaWEyaat) in the Khalifa Port Industrial Zone, Abu Dhabi. Jacobs holds a 40 percent interest in Neste Jacobs Oy.
The duration of the agreement and contract value were not disclosed.
Established in 2008, ChemaWEyaat is a holding company structured to develop Madeenat ChemaWEyaat. The first of several planned chemicals complexes to be built, Madeenat ChemaWEyaat will be the world's largest grassroots, fully integrated complex, with planned production of olefins, aromatics, oxide, and ammonia derivatives. Neste Jacobs' extensive expertise in polyolefins and aromatics will support this mega development. The work will be executed from Neste Jacobs' offices in Porvoo, Finland. This first chemicals complex is scheduled to begin operations in 2014.
