Course overview
Jacobs' Asset Management Training course was launched in 2015 and to date has been delivered to 1,800 participants (and growing!) in North America and the U.K. The course is split into the following five modules that align with good practice asset management as outlined in ISO 55000, PAS 55 and the IAM’s learning framework:
- Module 1 - Introduction to Asset Management
- Module 2 - Asset Related Risk
- Module 3 - Asset Management Life Cycle
- Module 4 - Asset Information
- Module 5 - Financial and Business Impacts (including Asset Management Plans)
The course has been designed and refined to include the application of adult learning techniques – employing a mix of presentation and theory, real world stories and working exercises and targets people who have some asset management experience. Course attendees will find themselves applying asset management techniques to “MoneyPit Manor,” a fictional apartment building that is facing a number of infrastructure and service delivery challenges that infrastructure owners and asset managers would typically face, with the working exercises based on real data.

The course
The remote-delivery course includes four 4-hour sessions and scheduled within a two-week timeframe. For those interested in sitting the IAM Certificate exam, a 1-hour recap session will be held after the regular sessions to review key concepts. Attendance to all four days is mandatory for course completion.

To register for a course please contact us with the course you would like to attend. You will be emailed payment details along with the registration form to complete which you will need to return by email to the registration team.

Institute of Asset Management Certificate exam
The Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Certificate and Diploma examinations are now available to take online globally, 24 hours a day through Pearson VUE. For more details on the certificate and the exam, visit the IAM website. The Certificate is a globally recognized Asset Management professional qualification, developed and managed by the IAM.
