The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has finalized the new National Primary Drinking Water Regulation to manage risks of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in drinking water.
The regulation establishes drinking water standards for six PFAS to provide health protection against these individual and co-occurring PFAS, with legally enforceable health-based Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) and non-enforceable Maximum Contaminant Level Goals (MCLGs).
In this guidance document, our Jacobs thought leaders take a deep dive into the requirements of the regulation, including:
- Compliance deadlines
- Drinking water standards
- Best-available treatment
- Monitoring requirements
With every U.S. state impacted and compliance deadlines approaching in 2029, staying ahead is critical.
